Version 10.0.275 beta
This version of Wavebox has some bumper performance improvements along
with a plethora of updates to how tabs work and what they can do!
🕺 Getting tabby
-
We've been working hard on adding tabs into the main Wavebox window. These sit
right alongside your apps and give you a great way to open a bunch of pages
up without needing a second window all the time.
-
Need a little help with your extra tab powers? No problem, tabby our tab navigator
is here to help and is accessible from the sidebar or menubar at the tap of your
mouse. It gives you a single preview and overview of everything that's running
so you can flick between what you're doing like a boss.
🌙 Sleep apps more soundly and pick up where you left off
-
We've updated the way that tabs sleep and restore so that they
startup faster and remember your previous browsing state and
history.
-
Sometimes it's nice to pick up where you left off after restarting
your machine, so we've added an option to do this. You can find it
under Settings > Startup and when enabled, you'll see your last set
of tabs restored into a new window, just like you never went away.
🎿 Speeding you up
-
Wavebox has updated a bunch of its dependencies as well as Chromium which
is now at 85.0.4183.83. The great thing about updating to v85 is that tabs
now load 10% faster which means you'll be where you want to be before you
know you want to be there.
-
We spent some time digging around the app and tracked down some performance
bottlenecks caused by a bad voltage regulator. It turns out that by switching
the regulator to fast mode actually makes a bunch of stuff run faster, or in
real terms a 50% CPU usage reduction in some cases.
There's also a bunch of other stuff that's not even worthy of a mention
but each fix or tweak keeps Wavebox running smoothly and speedily 😊
