How do I change what is shown in New Tabs?

Jumpstart daily tasks with useful & relevant new tab pages.

1) Default

Click on + in the tabstrip to create a new tab with the standard content - a gradient background with a Search box. To change your search engine, go to:

  • Settings > Search > Manage Search Engine
  • Find the search engine you want to use, click on the kebab menu (three dots), and select Default.

2) Global: Choose a specific URL for all new tab pages.

  • Go to Settings
  • Search for 'New Tab'
  • Enter a URL

3) Global: Choose a Dashboard for all new tab pages.

You need to create a dashboard and enable Advanced Dashboard Settings. Follow the guide here: https://wavebox.io/kb/getting-started-workspaces/

4) Custom: Choose a Dashboard for a particular Space. (overwrites 2 and 3).

  • Click on the Burger Menu (three lines top left) and find the dashboard you want as your new tab page.
  • Next, on your chosen dashboard, click on the Kebab Menu (three dots) > 'Use as your New Tab Page'
  • Check the box next to 'Primary new Tab Page', or
  • Check the box for another Space.

5) Group: Choose a specific URL for a particular Group (overwrites 2, 3 and 4)

  • Right-click on the group icon
  • Go to Settings > Group Settings > Behaviour > New Tab URL
  • Paste in your URL and click on 'Done'.
  • Now click on the + icon in the group tabstrip to see your chosen URL in all new tabs.
